Elementary Reading Tutor I

Neighborhood School Program
Neighborhood Schools Program

The Neighborhood Schools Program (NSP) is seeking undergraduate and graduate students interested in community youth engagement to assist elementary school teachers in providing children with individualized attention. NSP Tutors form partnerships with teachers and become vital parts of classrooms and after-school programs. Their work usually includes tutoring individual and small groups of students, helping to prepare lessons, and sometimes working with a teacher to deliver a mini-lesson. Reading Tutors' primary focus will be literacy, but should be flexible with subject-areas/content. Hours are flexible between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and students should expect to work 4 hours/week.
