Office of Special Programs - College Prep
The Office of special Programs-College Prep after school program for high school students seeks a 3rd or 4th year undergraduate or graduate student who is an outgoing, highly organized individual with demonstrated attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, establish and adhere to deadlines, think critically and problem solve. Must have excellent verbal, written and Microsoft skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint or comparable software. Experience in event planning preferred.
The position serves in a cross-functional capacity assisting in the implementation of an annual city-wide career conference for high school students by coordinating a team of volunteer committee members who provide advice and support in event planning and implementation including media promotion, signage, recruitment/registration of students, panelists, and keynote speakers, venue logistics, and food services.
Other duties include the development, update and dissemination of committee meeting minutes and status and progress reports; collection and analysis of data, scheduling of team meetings and conference calls and conducting volunteer information and training sessions; event coordination and participant registration.
Flexible hours: Monday - Thursday 9:00am - 6:00pm; Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm. Minimum commitment 10 to 15 hours per week.
All hires are required to complete a 90 minute orientation and on-boarding process.
